OUR METHODOLOGY

The “Gender Score” questionnaire is an interactive calculator based on a scoring system where for each calculated question, answer options are assigned a percentage value, called a weight.

The weight values assigned to each question indicate how much each case counts in the calculation, which varies depending on it’s benchmark and their relative importance. Some questions are only reserved for data collection.

Questions were allocated based on a selection of best practices that support gender inclusion in the workplace; and global industry indicators e.g. Number of women in tech roles, which is ∼27.9% in Europe (the range varies by location) - Statista.

The calculation of your score in “Part 1 - Gender Data”, is based on the parity of your overall workforce and total tech team. We also consider a couple of questions that give an indication of your workplace retention.

It is important to note that, although we are advocating for more Women in Tech, a good practice for gender inclusion is to aim for gender parity, or at least be within the limits of parity - numbers at either extremity aren’t a good indication of equality.

Relevant questions have been selected for companies falling within two size classes: Microenterprises and Small companies (<50 employees) and Medium and large companies (>50 employees).

A company's final score is calculated from the average of all category scores, and we provide first insights and recommendations based on their scores in each category.
